The list of cuts announced by the Berlin Coalition Committee on the 19.11.2024 threatens the sudden and irreversible loss of a central pillar of the creative infrastructure: Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH, which has been the operating body for the Workspace Programme since 2020, is to be abolished without warning. A 50% cut to the budget line for workspaces is disproportionate compared to the announced 10% cuts and effectively renders the Workspace Programme unfundable. Similarly, our funding body, the Stiftung fĂĽr Kulturelle Weiterbildung und Kulturberatung, is facing closure.
