The Kulturkataster is here! The city’s cultural offerings at a single glance

The Berlin Kulturkataster is now online and open to the public! With 2,441 venues currently listed – ranging from studios and clubs to museums – it provides the first systematic overview of Berlin’s cultural diversity.

Last week, the Kulturkataster celebrated its launch at the Klunkerkranich in Neukölln. Speaking before guests from the worlds of culture, politics and administration were Cerstin Richter-Kotowski, State Secretary for Culture and our Chair of the Supervisory Board, Dirk Förster, our Managing Director, and Daniel Jakobson, Project Manager of the Kulturkataster. In their speeches, they highlighted the significance of this new tool for the visibility and safeguarding of cultural venues in Berlin, and how it is to be further developed in the future.

This lays an important foundation, but the Kulturkataster is designed as a dynamic and participatory tool. It is intended to grow continuously and evolve together with the community. We therefore warmly invite you to get involved: submit missing venues, correct existing information and help strengthen this important database. Every addition helps to paint a more complete picture of Berlin’s cultural landscape!
