Cologne Club Days 2022

The “Cologne Club Days” will take place over three days in Cologne. As well as discussions and talks as part of the conference, the varied programme also features workshops, open-air concerts and a long night of clubbing. The “Cologne Club Days” project aims to highlight just how important clubs and venues are to Cologne. Sarah Manz from Kulturraum Berlin GmbH will be there:

Jenny Nilén

In the second panel, ‘Spaces for the “Soul of the City” – What Can Cultural Space Management Achieve?’, Klubkomm Chair and CBE operator Mankel Brinkmann speaks with Eva Herr (Head of the City Planning Office, City of Cologne) , Benjamin Thele from the new Kulturraummanagement Unit, and Sarah Manz from Kulturraum Berlin GmbH about the lack of spaces and open-air spaces for performance venues and cultural events.
Current examples, such as the approval process for this year’s open-air programme at Cologne’s SĂŒdbrĂŒcke or legal proceedings such as those concerning the endangered VolksbĂŒhne, show that there is an enormous need for action in Cologne. How can Cologne’s new Kulturraummanagement preserve existing cultural venues and create new ones? The audience can look forward to hearing what concrete measures the administration is planning, how the cultural scene is to be integrated into decision-making processes, and which models will serve as inspiration for their work.
Moderator: Anja Backhaus.
