In the second panel, âSpaces for the âSoul of the Cityâ â What Can Cultural Space Management Achieve?â, Klubkomm Chair and CBE operator Mankel Brinkmann speaks with Eva Herr (Head of the City Planning Office, City of Cologne) , Benjamin Thele from the new Kulturraummanagement Unit, and Sarah Manz from Kulturraum Berlin GmbH about the lack of spaces and open-air spaces for performance venues and cultural events.
Current examples, such as the approval process for this yearâs open-air programme at Cologneâs SĂŒdbrĂŒcke or legal proceedings such as those concerning the endangered VolksbĂŒhne, show that there is an enormous need for action in Cologne. How can Cologneâs new Kulturraummanagement preserve existing cultural venues and create new ones? The audience can look forward to hearing what concrete measures the administration is planning, how the cultural scene is to be integrated into decision-making processes, and which models will serve as inspiration for their work.
Moderator: Anja Backhaus.
