Mara von Kummer
On Friday afternoon, representatives from various local authorities, cultural associations and cultural institutions gathered in a pop-up space at the Amerika Gedenkbibliothek to explore the topic of the Kulturkataster in greater depth. The workshop followed an initial concept development phase, during which requirements and ideas for a Kulturkataster were gathered. The report can be read here.
After the welcome and opening, the workshop began with a series of keynote presentations:
“Why Berlin needs a Kulturkataster”, presentation by Christian Brennholt, Head of the Policy and Law II A Division at the SenKultGZ
“Experiences in setting up land information systems”, presentation by Henning Roser (Senate Department for Urban Development, Construction and Housing)
“Implementation of the Open Data Strategy in the State of Berlin”, keynote by Betül Özdemir (Head of Open Data for the State of Berlin, Senate Chancellery)
“Development and role of key performance indicators in library development planning in Berlin”, keynote by Andrea Osterode (Central and State Library and VOEBB)
During the interactive part of the workshop, participants gained an initial insight into a possible design for a Kulturkataster and had the opportunity to engage in a concrete and in-depth examination of the structure, the required data and use-case scenarios.
We would like to thank all participants for the lively discussion and the valuable insights!
