Kultur RĂ€ume Berlin: Digital press conference marking the alliance’s launch

On 15.02.2021 at 10 am, Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer will present the new Kultur RĂ€ume Berlin alliance and its members.

Kultur RĂ€ume Berlin, the alliance for space dedicated to artistic work in the independent arts scene, will take over the Workspace Programme of the Senate Department for Culture and Europe from this year onwards, with the aim of creating and securing artistic workspaces and production spaces for all art forms. The specially established Kulturraum Berlin GmbH will coordinate operational activities and facilitate new approaches.

Through cooperation and the diverse expertise of the stakeholders in this new alliance, processes are to be made more agile, efficient and closely aligned with the scene. The aim is to create and expand a sustainable spatial infrastructure for Berlin’s artists.

Kultur RĂ€ume Berlin comprises the Senate Department for Culture and Europe, BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH, Kulturraum Berlin GmbH, the Gesellschaft fĂŒr StadtEntwicklung gemeinnĂŒtzige GmbH (GSE), The Studio Office in the kulturwerk of the bbk berlin, and the BĂŒndnis Freie Szene Berlin e. V.

Following a statement by Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer, viewers will gain an insight into the work and plans of the alliance. This will be followed by a discussion between Klaus Lederer and Tatjana Kaube from Kulturraum Berlin GmbH. Afterwards, media representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions of all stakeholders in the alliance.

The entire event will be interpreted into German Sign Language.

The opening will be followed by the launch of a new website featuring new digital application procedures.
